How It Works
MedKaz makes it simple for both patients and providers. Patients subscribe to MedKaz or receive it as a wellness benefit, and carry it with them — with their house and car keys. They give it to their providers when they require care; it is updated after each provider visit. Providers plug it into a non-networked computer in the exam room and instantly access everything they need: notes or reports, test results, procedures, diagnoses — from every provider the patient has seen. No special training, no added staff, and no integration with existing EHRs are required.
- Patient Brings Their MedKaz to You
Each patient carries their MedKaz mini drive, giving it to you whenever care is needed — in the exam room, ER, or even an ambulance. You plug it into a non-networked computer, thereby protecting both your network and their MedKaz from corruption or interference. The hardware costs are minimal and dwarfed by your new revenue.
2. You Access an Instant Health Summary
MedKaz opens in a browser and generates a concise Health Summary you can scan in 30 seconds — no training needed. It includes:
- Current and past health issues (acute and chronic)
- Medications, allergies, and immunizations
- List of recent provider visits and the reasons for each — in last six months for new patients; since they last saw you for older patients
3. You Treat as Usual
Talk with your patient, conduct the exam, and chart the visit as you normally would — in your EHR system.
4. Need More Info? Just Search Your Patients’ MedKaz
Search any term, and MedKaz works like Google:
Matching records display with the term highlighted, starting with the most recent. When your patient enters their password, you can print or download any document directly to your system.
5. Upload Your Notes Securely
After the visit, your Medical Records team uploads a copy of your notes to the MedKaz Server via secure Direct Messaging. It can be a PDF, structured data, or both.
